What we offer
Qualifications in TA
A programme of continuing personal and professional development opportunities. We provide an ongoing programme of workshops and seminars that are relevant and useful to anyone who wants to grow, develop and learn more about themselves and their relationships with others.
Bespoke TA-based half day, day or 2-day workshops can be arranged for staff teams, management/leadership teams and groups. These have proved invaluable for such areas as problem-solving, team cohesion, team-building and change management among others.
Who we are
The team is led by Bev Gibbons who is a Certified Transactional Analysis psychotherapist and has a BA in Integrative Counselling, and an MA in TA psychotherapy. Bev has many years of training experience, and is also endorsed for training and supervision by EATA (European Association for Transactional Analysis) as a PTSTA. She has worked as a youth work trainer and policy developer, has worked for many years with survivors of abuse, including young survivors, worked for 11 years as the clinical and operational lead of a large counselling and psychotherapy service in the not for profit sector. Additionally Bev is director of BGCP her counselling and psychotherapy practice, which provides therapy, clinical and non-clinical supervision and training.
I am committed to giving individuals the best possible training and learning experience, based on what works best for them in particular. Warmth and willingness to be real and remain curious are also important to me as a trainer. All of these elements form the foundation on which my training approach rests and creates the conditions where authentic, genuine responses to learning, to each other, to challenges experienced and questions raised are invited and supported.
The experienced trainers here at Shoreline bring a wealth of knowledge from all 4 fields of TA – Psychotherapy, Counselling, Education and Organisational – , as well as from other approaches to counselling and psychotherapy. Our aim at Shoreline is to give you a rich, diverse and stimulating training experience, that will engage your curiosity, deepen your knowledge and build on your resources.
My two professional roles are Counsellor and Training / Supervising Transactional Analyst (PTSTA-C), both accredited by the European Association of Transactional Analysis (EATA). Committed to EATA’s code of ethics, I foster a relational approach, work with focus on resources, and in shared responsibility for the developmental process and its outcome. I judge the systemic view as significant, and take context and culture into account. My clients are individuals and teams on all levels of hierarchy. My passion is working in intercultural settings. My key activities are coaching, process and workshop facilitation, and mentoring of postgraduate students. I am delivering international TA-training and supervision, with the motivation to provide an experiential learning environment and a space where professional and personal development go hand in hand.
I am a BACP Accredited Relational psychotherapy; BSc Therapeutic Counselling; Diploma Clinical Supervision.
In my work I find combining the warmth of Person Centred Therapy with the analytical aspects of Psychodynamic therapy helps clients gain insight and understanding about how they relate to self and others.
I enjoy working creatively, bringing the ‘inner child’ into the therapy, giving a voice and insight into self that may not have been heard. As a therapist and as a supervisor I see a key part of my work as enabling a genuine dialogue with the internal and external aspects of self.
A particular area of interest for me has been working with anger, developing a group programme and gaining more insight into how anger presents itself within other areas of life.
